in Eugene, Oregon at the UNIVERSITY OF OREGON

HOME SCHOOL RESOURCE AND OPPORTUNITY Parents involved in the homeschooling of teenagers will find a real jewel of an asset in the year-long OHSIRL MUN program. A well thought out curriculum that is posted on the internet and free to all participants is a key element to the program. It allows students of all learning skills and talents to be involved. The program enhances skills in writing, research, public speaking, and parliamentary procedure. Social skills are polished, brainstorming is encouraged, and artistic talents are given an opportunity to shine. Home schooling parental organization will find it very easy to sign up for a country, guide their students in the learning process, and they will enjoy the low cost of a multi-level program that offers so much to so many kids at the same time. The parents/chaperones at the conference will find many opportunities for their students and for themselves to network and to develop their skills in guiding their home school student. It is an excellent way to build community, to polish social skills, and to develop leadership potential. The Oregon Model United Nations offers an excellent opportunity for homeschooling in the community, giving the student field trip experience, as well as group activities with professionaeducational staff support the entire year. |
