What is a Committee Chair?
Just like in the UN, every MUN committee is headed by chair people. These committee chairs are students who regulate the flow of discussion and maintain order during sessions. Chairs are expected to have in-depth knowledge of the debate rules and as such attend several training sessions.
How do I become a Committee Chair?
In order to become a committee chair, we ask that you have at least 1 year of prior experience with the conference. Committee Chairs for the 2019 Oregon MUN have been selected and notified. If you would like to apply to be an alternate in case a current committe chair must withdraw, Please click the link below and complete the Committee Chair Test for Alternates by December 1, 2018. We will contact you if spots become available.
Tentative Current COMMITMENTS for committee chairs for 2018-2019. Chairs MUST commit to the following:
1. Must attend one of the WinterCon Events in Portland-Area, Eugene or Medford in November.
2. Must attend one Credentialing Session in Portland-Area, Eugene or Medford in February.
3. SunMuch attend each of the full training sessions.
4. Much be able to attend the Entire 2019 Oregon MUN Conference.
Failure to meet all of the commitments above may result in being removed as a Committee Chair.
