What is a Committee Chair?
Just like in the UN, every MUN committee is headed by chair people. These committee chairs are students who regulate the flow of discussion and maintain order during sessions. Chairs are expected to have in-depth knowledge of the debate rules and as such attend several training sessions.
How do I become a Committee Chair?
In order to become a committee chair, we ask that you have at least 1 year of prior experience with the conference and fill out the application form below. The Application deadline is May 24th, 2024. We will notify those selected about the next few steps.
Tentative Current COMMITMENTS for committee chairs for 2024-2025. Chairs MUST commit to the following:
1. Must attend CrisisCon in November (online).
2. Must attend WinterCon in January (online).
2. Must attend one Credentialing Session in Portland-area, Eugene, or Medford in February (these may be online).
3. Must attend each of the full training sessions (4).
4. Must be able to attend the entire 2024 Oregon MUN Conference.
Failure to meet all of the commitments above may result in being removed as a Committee Chair.
